What students walk out with

Real skills. Real confidence.

Next Generation Leadership stays its own programme, not merged into the adult tracks, because student leadership deserves age-appropriate language, examples and stakes. We meet students where they are and stretch them just enough.

Confidence to lead activities in front of peers

Practical facilitation and public speaking skills

A real toolkit of play-based games and rituals

Greater empathy and emotional literacy

A stronger sense of agency and contribution

A school-wide culture they help build

A typical day

What student leaders actually do

Every session follows the same arc — morning discovery, midday practice, afternoon planning. Students leave with skills and a plan they own.

Morning

Discover

Self-awareness, leadership styles and what kind of leader they want to be, through play, not slides.

Midday

Practice

Facilitate real games with peer feedback. Mistakes welcomed, growth tracked.

Afternoon

Plan

Build a Term Plan for play across their school, assemblies, lunch breaks, classroom rituals.

How we prepare your student leaders

From shy to standing in front in one day.

Stories from across the play movement.

Student voices and teacher feedback from Next Gen workshops across schools in Australia, Bangkok and beyond.

“I used to be terrified of speaking in front of people. After Next Gen I ran a whole-school assembly. I never thought I could do that.”

“The games we learned are now what we play at lunch. The whole year level is calmer because of it.”

L
Liam, Year 6

“The cohort that came out of Next Gen runs our peer-mentoring programme. It is genuinely the most transformative day of leadership PD we run all year.”

Next Gen FAQ

Quick answers for school leaders.

Can't find what you're looking for? Drop us a line and we'll get back to you within one business day.

Real answers, real humans.

No bots, no run-arounds.

01Primary or secondary, which is right for us?

Both. We run separate Primary (F–6) and Secondary (7–12) tracks. Each is age-appropriate in language, examples, stakes and level of facilitation challenge.

02How long is the workshop?

Half day or full day, depending on your goals. Half day is great for an intensive intro, full day allows time for facilitation practice with real groups.

03Where is it held?

Always at your school. We bring everything, equipment, materials, energy. You provide a space and the leadership cohort.

04How many students should we include?

We work best with 12–30 student leaders per session. Smaller groups get deeper coaching, larger groups need more facilitator time.

05How does it differ from Student Agency Leadership?

Next Gen is a powerful workshop, perfect as an intro, a culture moment or a one-off investment. Student Agency Leadership is a year-long programme with ongoing coaching. Many schools start with Next Gen, then graduate into Student Agency the following year.
