For schools

Privacy & child safety.

Schools trust us with their staff, their students and their time. This page answers the questions school leaders and IT teams ask before signing up, in plain English. The legal version lives in our Privacy Policy.

Accounts belong to adults

The platform is operated by teachers, school leaders and parents. Students do not need accounts to take part in a School of Play lesson: the teacher logs in, the class plays. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and nothing on the platform asks a student to sign up.

In-person sessions

Everyone who delivers School of Play sessions in schools, from keynotes to FunShops to student workshops, holds a current Working With Children Check. If your school or department needs verification details before an event, ask and we will provide them.

We collect the minimum

A member account is a name, an email address and a school. Payments are processed by Stripe; card numbers never touch our servers. Site analytics are cookieless and aggregate (Plausible), and we load no advertising trackers by default. We do not sell data, full stop.

Nothing is published without review

Where the platform invites contributions, like feedback notes, photos or videos on the Play Wall, every submission is held privately until a member of our team reviews and approves it. Contributors choose at the point of submission whether their note may be shared publicly, and anything involving students is only ever shared with that consent and our review. You can ask us to remove any published item at any time.

The services we rely on

We deliberately keep the list short. Each provider receives only what it needs to do its job:

ProviderWhat it does
VercelWebsite hosting and content delivery
MemberstackMember accounts and login
StripePayments (card details never touch our servers)
MailerLite / ResendEmail you have asked to receive
PlausiblePrivacy-friendly, cookieless site analytics
AnthropicAI lesson tools (content of your request only, not member records)

Deletion on request

Members can delete their account and its data from account settings, or by emailing us. Schools leaving the platform can request deletion of all associated member accounts and contributed content, and we will confirm in writing when it is done.

Questions we welcome

If your IT team, privacy officer or department has a security questionnaire, send it through: hello@theschoolofplay.co. We would rather answer twenty questions before you sign than one incident report after.

Acknowledgement of CountryThe School of Play acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past and present.
