The School of Play Curriculum
Kindergarten

Week Fifteen celebrates the life skill of confidence, encouraging students to recognise their inner strengths and share them proudly with others. The week begins with Star Performer, a joyful invitation for each child to step into the spotlight and share something they’re proud of, helping them practise bravery while building a supportive classroom audience. Students then explore their inner strengths through My Super Self-Shield, designing bold, colourful shields that represent their personal “superpowers,” from kindness and curiosity to bravery and perseverance.
The week continues with Power Pose Challenge, where students learn how strong body language and positive affirmations can boost their belief in themselves, helping them feel brave from the inside out. To finish, students create Confidence Hearts, drawing or writing about something they’re proud of and taking it home to share with someone special. Together, these activities help children understand that confidence grows through encouragement, reflection, and celebration. Week Fifteen, inspired by the mighty glow of Jupiter, reminds students that when they shine brightly and cheer on others, they help make the whole classroom a braver, kinder, and more connected community.

Weekly Lessons
Star Performer
Star Performer is a joyful celebration of confidence, courage, and self-expression. Students are invited to step into the spotlight and share something they feel proud of, whether it’s a dance move, a silly joke, a special skill, or simply a brave smile. This playful moment encourages children to recognise their strengths and practise being seen in a supportive, positive environment. With 30 seconds to shine, each student experiences what it feels like to be acknowledged, valued, and celebrated for who they are.
As classmates cheer, clap, and encourage one another, the room fills with connection and joy. Students learn the importance of lifting others up, showing kindness, and celebrating each person’s unique abilities. The supportive audience role is just as empowering as performing, reinforcing empathy and unity within the group. Inspired by Jupiter’s message that everyone carries a bright inner light, “Star Performer” helps students understand that confidence grows when we share it together, and that every student has something special worth celebrating.
My Super Self-Shield
My Super Self-Shield is a creative and empowering activity where students design their own superhero-style shield to represent their strengths, qualities, and personal “superpowers.” Through colours, symbols, and drawings, students reflect on what makes them brave, unique, and proud. The process encourages self-awareness and boosts confidence as children discover the powerful traits they carry within themselves.
Once completed, students have the opportunity to share their shields with the group, celebrating individuality while listening respectfully to their peers. The activity reinforces the message from Jupiter, the planet of confidence: when we recognise and honour our strengths, we shine brightly and inspire those around us. My Super Self-Shield helps students build self-belief and proudly carry their inner superpowers into every new challenge.

Power Pose Challenge
The Power Pose Challenge is an energising confidence-building activity where students use their bodies to express strength, positivity, and courage. Through simple superhero-style poses, children learn how movement can influence how they feel on the inside. As they stretch tall like rockets, stand firm like mountains, or take wide star poses, students explore physical balance, coordination, and the empowering link between body language and self-belief. The activity invites them to stand proudly, feel grounded, and discover the powerful light they carry within, just like the Playful Astronauts on Jupiter.
Alongside each pose, students speak short, brave affirmations such as “I am strong” or “I can do hard things.” This combination of movement and mindful language helps build emotional resilience, self-esteem, and positive thinking. The Power Pose Challenge is playful, uplifting, and accessible to all learners, offering a safe space to practise confidence in a fun, engaging way. When children see themselves standing tall and sounding brave, they begin to feel brave, reinforcing Jupiter’s lesson that true confidence comes from within and grows stronger each time we choose to shine.
Confidence Hearts
Confidence Hearts gives students a simple, meaningful way to recognise and celebrate something they feel proud of. Using a heart-shaped card, students draw or write a moment that made them feel confident, strong, or capable. The activity encourages gentle self-reflection, helping children notice their own growth, bravery, or effort. Whether it’s learning a new skill, helping a friend, or trying something challenging, students use colours, symbols, and creativity to express the things that make them feel good about themselves.
Once their heart is complete, students can choose to share it with the group or take it home to someone special, spreading their confidence beyond the classroom. This creates a powerful bridge between school and family, allowing children to proudly share who they are becoming. Inspired by Jupiter’s glowing sense of self-belief, Confidence Hearts helps young learners understand that confidence doesn’t have to be loud, it can be a small, treasured moment written on a heart that reminds them of their strengths.
